"Women Are..." (A Poem)
Updated: Dec 16, 2022
Constantly given name tags
They’re called complicated,
Emotional,
Fragile,
Weak.
They are useless,
Good-for-nothing folk
Except when it comes to being barefoot and pregnant
Covered in soap suds until their elbows,
Too big to get off the couch, too busy housing the next CEOs,
Lawyers,
Doctors of the world
Inside of them.
Wrong.
Women are their own individuals,
As good as any man.
Women are determined,
strong,
Powerful.
Women breed women,
Stronger in every generation
And every generation stronger because of women.
Women are undoubtedly prevented from achieving their full potential,
But women overcome.
They fight, pursue, win.
Women band together
Because strength is in numbers.
